Volunteering at Hearthstone
Hearthstone Historic House Museum could be the perfect place for you to volunteer. This is particularly true if you love history, especially the history of technology, or Appleton, or Victorian life, or architecture, interior design, music, art, vintage clothing, gardening, working with your hands on projects, or simply enjoy being with fun, dedicated people of all ages.
Our volunteer positions include:
Tour Guide: Join our team of tour guides and learn more about the history of Appleton, the Victorian era, and technology. Work with adults and children as you lead them through the past into an exciting time in American history.
Guest Services: Become a greeter and help us welcome people to Hearthstone. Our guest services volunteers also occasionally help in the lower level Hydro-adventure center with hands-on exhibits designed for kids (and kids-at-heart) and our small gift shop.
Project Volunteer: Hearthstone is made up of volunteer teams who work together on every aspect of running an historic house museum. We have opportunities on our marketing, building and grounds, curation and research, fund raising, educational outreach, and special events teams. Please let us know your interests and we will gladly find a place for you.
Board Member: Hearthstone Historic House Museum is always seeking candidates for its Board of Directors. The board, which meets monthly, is responsible for strategic planning, fiscal oversight, and fundraising. Each Director also heads one of our working committees which we call cabinets. Cabinets include Finance, Fundraising, Marketing, Historical Research, Tours and Education, Special Events, and Building and Grounds. Board members serve three year terms.
Please complete the following form and we will contact immediately regarding our volunteer opportunities.
