Virtual Tours of Hearthstone
Hearthstone Historic House Museum is helping to foster connectivity and wider community interaction by providing live virtual tours of the museum at no cost. Tours are available for classes and select adult groups via Zoom or Google Classroom.
The basic elements of electrical generation are easily seen in this working display… magnets, coils of wire, and movement.
Our old-fashion bicycle, called a “velocipede,” that turns mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Grades K-3
Hearthstone offers live, interactive tours that feature inquiry-based, experiential learning. The virtual tour covers the “Basics of Electricity.” Please refer to the tour outline for details.
The tours are provided through Zoom, Google Classroom, or the classes existing class link. The tours are live and interactive with students being able to ask questions throughout the tour.
Reservations are limited. Classes are encouraged to sign up for virtual tours at least two weeks in advance using this reservation form.
Grades 4-6
The tour for Grades 4-6 is “Hydroelectricity and the Inventions of Hearthstone.” This tour is also live and interactive and feature inquiry-based, experiential learning. Please refer to the tour outline for details.

Select Adult group tours
Hearthstone is offering virtual adult tours to select non-profit organizations that work with seniors or those in other vulnerable groups.
Tour topics vary by season and can be tailored to meet the needs of the group.
The virtual tours are provided entirely free of charge for qualifying groups.
Group sponsors are encouraged to sign up for virtual tours at least two weeks in advance using this reservation form.
